On a usual evening, fifteen-year-old Anne was having her usual bedtime chat with her mother in her room. Little did she know, this sweet and peaceful night would mark a turning point in her fate, a beginning of her life's collapse...
 
On the other side of the world, another fifteen-year-old girl, Annie, was writing in her diary in the basement of Omela, waiting for her white knight to come and save her...
 
The first prize winner of the 26th Taipei Literature Award for Stage Plays, 《Gently, Please!》takes on the modern society's anxiety over weight and appearance. By transforming the cultural symbols in the novel 《The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas》 and the classic biography 《The Diary of a Young Girl》, the play intertwines the destinies of the two young girls through intertextuality, unfolding a story about 'love' and 'power' between the absurd and the real.
